AKJKAQ MEMBERSHIP
When becoming part of AKJKAQ, the dojo members have access to the following advantages:
- Personal insurance;
- Degree examinations;
- Membership card;
- Activities of the AKJKAQ, Karaté Québec, national karate association and the Canadian worldwide association Japan Karate Association Shotokan Karate-Do;
- Regional, provincial, national and international competitions;
- Clinics as well as the summer and winter training camps;
- Teaching from JKA instructors coming from Japan, U.S.A., etc.
N.B.: Every AKJKAQ brown belt and black belt members must get the official JKA passport.
WHY BECOMING A MEMBER?
The AKJKAQ is affiliated to:
- Karate Quebec is the only Quebec association recognized by the ministry of education, loisir and sport from the Quebec government and by Sports-Quebec;
- Karate Canada;
- The JKA Shotokan Karate-Do World Organization of Canada (JKASKD);
- The Japan Karate Association (JKA) which is the first karate association recognized by the Japanese ministry of education.
Consequently, the AKJKAQ members may take part in national and international competitions as well as tournaments such as the panamerican games, the ‘junior’ and ‘senior’ world cups and the Funakoshi Gichin Cups.
